Manchester United's Lisandro Martinez Undergoes Surgery on Season-Ending Injury

Manchester United centre-back Lisandro Martinez has taken the first step towards recovery after undergoing surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

Martinez’s Long Road to Recovery

The Argentine defender suffered the injury during United’s 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this month.

The severity of the damage was confirmed by the club following an assessment, and Martinez is now expected to be sidelined for at least six months.

Surgery Deemed Successful

According to reports, Martinez underwent successful surgery in London on Thursday.

While Manchester United is yet to release an official statement, head coach Ruben Amorim is expected to provide an update on the defender’s condition during his press conference on Friday.

Impact on United’s Defensive Lineup

Martinez’s absence will be felt in United’s defensive lineup, with Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Noussair Mazraoui likely to rotate in the centre-back spots for the remainder of the season.
