Roy Keane advised Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund to “cut out the distractions” following another goalless performance in Monday night’s FA Cup victory against Wigan Athletic.
Hojlund returned to the starting XI after illness in the FA Cup third round as the Danish forward had some great opportunities to score in the first half.
While Hojlund scored a commendable five goals in six UEFA Champions League group stage matches,
his performance in domestic competitions has been challenging, managing only one goal across 18 appearances in the Premier League, Carabao Cup, and FA Cup.

Keane said
“I’d be fuming with him. [Man Utd] brought their habits from the Premier League in terms of missing chances, and not being clinical.
I want to see that side of United tonight.”
“With the striker, he’s missing his chances, so we can say unlucky, oh dear.
Create opportunities, put them in the back of the net, stop messing about!”
Martinez has been impressed with Hojlund’s commitment and general play,
even if he hasn’t been putting the ball in the net on a regular basis yet for the Red Devils.
‘He’s such a committed player, he gives you so much, it would be unfair just to judge him on goals,’ said the former Wigan boss.
‘But of course he’s a number nine for Manchester United there’s a big price tag, you have to score those goals, but he’s not doing anything wrong in those chances.
Probably the header he needs to look at the ball, but the others, in a moment of confidence the ball hits you and goes in the back of the net.’
