Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has shed light on the decision to part ways with Ruud van Nistelrooy, citing a desire to maintain a cohesive coaching staff and avoid disrespecting the club legend.

Amorim insisted that the choice to move Van Nistelrooy on was “so clear” and not a difficult one to make.
He explained that he didn’t want to disrupt the dynamics of his existing staff or relegate Van Nistelrooy to a lesser role.
“It was not a difficult situation, because it was so clear for me,” Amorim said. “I just had to explain.

Van Nistelrooy has since taken the reins at Leicester City, where he has recorded three wins, one draw, and eight defeats in his first 12 matches.
