Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been lavished with praise by Plymouth Argyle boss Miron Muslic, who described him as “one of the most successful coaches in sports history” ahead of their FA Cup fifth-round tie.
Guardiola’s Illustrious Career
With 39 trophies won across his 17-year managerial career, Guardiola is widely regarded as one of the greatest football coaches of all time.
His success at Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City has earned him numerous accolades, including six Premier League titles, one Champions League, and two FA Cups.
Muslic’s Admiration for Guardiola
Muslic, who replaced Wayne Rooney as Plymouth boss last month, expressed his admiration for Guardiola, calling him a “huge role model for every single coach in the world.” The Plymouth boss described facing Guardiola as the “biggest honour” of his life.

Guardiola’s Response and Injury Update
Guardiola responded to Muslic’s kind words, saying he appreciated the praise and had an “incredible bottle of wine” waiting for the Plymouth boss after the game.
The Manchester City manager also provided an injury update on Oscar Bobb, who is making progress in his recovery after being sidelined since August last year.
Manchester City’s FA Cup Ambitions
Manchester City will face Plymouth at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, looking to advance to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
Guardiola’s side has already been knocked out of the EFL Cup and Champions League, making the FA Cup their only remaining hope for silverware this season.
A Tough Test Against Plymouth
Despite Plymouth’s struggles in the Championship, Guardiola is not taking the Pilgrims lightly.
Plymouth has already beaten Premier League sides Brentford and Liverpool in the FA Cup, and Guardiola expects a “difficult game” against the Championship side.
