Chelsea Set on Join Mamchester United in Potential Race for Brighton’s Striker Evan Ferguson

The 19-year-old forward has showcased his talent with 15 goals and four assists in 43 games across all competitions for Brighton & Hove Albion.

In the Premier League, he boasts a record of 11 goals and two assists in 31 appearances.

During the summer, speculation surrounded Ferguson’s future, with Manchester United reportedly making an unsuccessful bid for the Republic of Ireland international before pursuing Rasmus Hojlund

Ferguson has had an impressive beginning to the 2023-24 Premier League season,

scoring five goals in 11 games. Earlier this month, it was revealed that he secured a new long-term contract at the Amex.

Despite extending his contract with Brighton until June 2029, there’s anticipation that Ferguson will depart from the Seagulls before then owing to the increasing interest in his talents.

A recent report suggests that Manchester United maintains interest in acquiring him, while Tottenham Hotspur is also closely monitoring his progress.

Brighton reportedly holds high valuation on Ferguson, with indications suggesting they would seek a British-record transfer fee if they consider selling him.

He’s recognized as one of the Premier League’s most promising young talents.

In another report, Chelsea holds significant admiration for Ferguson and aims to enter the competition for his signature when he eventually departs Brighton.

Chelsea’s Director of Global Talent and Transfers, Paul Winstanley, and Chief Analyst Kyle Macaulay previously held positions at Brighton.

This connection leads Chelsea to hope that their ties with the Seagulls could position them favorably in securing the young player.

Chelsea’s Premier League season has lacked consistency, gathering only 16 points from 12 matches. As a result, they currently sit in 10th place in the league standings.
