Bruno Fernandes Accused Of Deliberate Booking Strategy On Purpose To Miss Liverpool Clash

Bruno's Fernandes will miss Liverpool clash

Bruno Fernandes received his fifth Premier League yellow card during their disappointing 3-0 loss to Bournemouth as Richard Keys believes the United Captain Deliberately did that to miss Liverpool clash.

Hence, he’ll miss the upcoming league game at Anfield against table-toppers Liverpool.

Last season, United suffered a 7-0 defeat there, with Fernandes notably underperforming.

Despite this, he won’t participate in the upcoming match, and Keys suggested a deliberate booking tactic.

Keys said:

“I think he knows at 3-0 down, because I think that that last ten minutes, United stopped playing, it could have been four or five.

“I think he knows that next week could be a bad day out for them, and I think if we’re all agreed that he knew if we he got booked he would miss the game, then I can’t think of any other scenario whereby I could allow him the room to manoeuvre on that.

“Say, ‘Well it was a heated moment.’ It wasn’t, I think he knew he gets booked and I think he knows he misses the game and I think that for me sums him up.

“He’s not a captain, he’s not a leader, his position has been questioned by proper Manchester United captains, people like Roy Keane, all season.”

Fernandes’ captaincy abilities were scrutinized after Keane urged the club to strip him of the armband post their 3-0 loss to Manchester City.

Following the yellow card, United will miss their captain during a crucial game against Liverpool.

However, Erik ten Hag‘s team faces Bayern Munich first in a vital Champions League clash on Tuesday, needing a win to stay in contention for the last 16.
