Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus boldly states scoring goals isn’t his strength amidst a struggle to rescue Brazil in recent clash against Argentina.
The forward, despite being Brazil’s primary number nine at the 2018 World Cup, did not manage to score a goal, drawing considerable criticism.
Since his international debut in 2016, Jesus has amassed a total of 19 goals in 63 appearances.
However, only one goal has been scored by him since the 2019 Copa America final where he netted against Peru.
Despite injuring his hamstring in Arsenal’s win over Sevilla last month, he was still included in their squad for the recent international break.

He started in the loss to Argentina at Maracana on Wednesday, a match overshadowed by violent scenes before kick-off.
Jesus resumed full training ahead of the game after the Brazilian FA emphasized their cautious approach to his hamstring injury, which had kept him sidelined since October 21.
Discussing his performance in international goal-scoring, Jesus mentioned to Terra:
“There are things that bothered me a lot in the post 2018 World Cup cycle. I was younger, I had a different mind.
“Today I am a more mature man, more educated, a family man.
I understand football is a priority for me, and I know I need to be well to do my best, especially in the Brazilian team.
“There are things that I don’t control. I train, I look for, I try, I move, I help the team.
The goal is inevitable. I believe it’s not my strong point, but I score goals and I’m there to score goal.
“When I come back, it will happen. It’s work.
I work quietly, I’m not one to respond to criticism, I’m not one to be happy for praise. I was, I won’t be anymore.”
Arsenal fans eagerly anticipate whether Mikel Arteta will rely on Gabriel Jesus this weekend in his starting eleven as they face Brentford on Saturday evening.
