Cole Palmer’s Participation In Chelsea’s Visit To Arsenal Remains In Doubt

Mauricio Pochettino confirms uncertainty surrounding Cole Palmer’s availability for Arsenal clash.

During Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final match against Manchester City last Saturday, Cole Palmer was below his best.

Palmer has been in sensational form this term, scoring 23 goals and providing 11 assists since joining the Blues.

Pochettino’s side are three points behind Newcastle and Manchester United, and have a game in hand on their rivals for sixth place.

But Palmer could be missing as Chelsea travel to rivals Arsenal.

Pochettino said:

‘We will see tomorrow. We will assess him in the morning.

‘Today, no I don’t believe he can be involved but we will assess him tomorrow.

‘Even if he is good tomorrow, maybe he’s not in a condition to play. Hopefully he can recover as soon as possible.’

The Blues could also be without Marc Gusto and Ben Chilwell, with the pair suffering knocks in the defeat at Wembley.

‘Malo suffered minor injury of the ligament on his knee,’ said Pochettino.

‘I’m not a doctor but I show respect trying to translate what is going on.

‘Chilly after the national team it is the same problem he suffered in the last few weeks.’

Arsenal came back from being 2-0 down to level the score 2-2 at Stamford Bridge, and a win for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium will give them an edge in the title race.
