Arsenal showed a classic diplayed in the just concluded Premier League 2022/23 season as Arteta sides narrowly missed out in winning the league but, still finished second behind the winner Manchester City.
During the January transfer Arsenal were only able to added Leandro Trossard from Brighton, Jakub Kiwior from Spezia Calcio and Jorginho from Chelsea but failed on both Rice And Caicedo.
As the 2023/24 summer is about to open, Mikel Arteta is very confidence to complete the signing of West Ham captain Declan Rice and also eyeing in convincing Manchester City captain IIkay Gundogan to join the Gunners.
Gundogan is into the final three weeks of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, meaning he would be available on a free transfer if he doesn’t agree a new deal with the Citizens before then.
Both the Gunners and La Liga champions Barcelona are said to be keen to sign the German international this summer whilst,
Pep Guardiola‘s side have made it no secret of their desire to keep the veteran midfielder in Manchester.
How Arsenal could lineup next season
GK: Aaron Ramsdale (depth – Matt Turner)
Aaron Ramsdale will remains first choice goalkeeper as he was one of the best keepers in the league last season and he’s only young.
However, The USA Keeper Turner is happy to play backup and in the cup competitions.
LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko (depth – Takehiro Tomiyasu and Joao Cancelo)
Tomiyasu sustains an injury before the end of last season but hopefully having a fruitful speedy recovery before the new season start.
Meanwhile, Oleksandr Zinchenko proving a great signing last season, this position should be fully covered for Mikel Arteta.
CBs: William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes (depth – Ben White and Marc Guehi)
The priority signings in defence should be a new full-back AND a new centre back.
This way, Ben White could be used as either a centre back or right back, and no injury to Arsenal’s centre backs will sway them like they did last season.

RB: Joao Cancelo (depth – Sacha Boey and Ben White)
If Arsenal do pull off the signings of Joao Cancelo and Ben White, this would bulk up the defence.
CDM: Declan Rice (depth – Thimas Partey)
This would be the signing of summer and one that hopefully Arsenal can pull off, particularly given the competition in Bayern Munich.
CM: Ilkay Gundogan (depth – Emile Smith Rowe)
It’ll be a hard one to pull off, but hopefully Mikel Arteta can work his charm with free agent Ilkay Gundogan.

CAM: Martin Odegaard (depth – Fabio Vieira)
Odegaard was on high rank fir his performance last season. The captain will retain his place next season.

LW: Gabriel Martinelli (depth – Leandro Trossard)
Mikel Arteta won’t have to worry about losing these two, both of them tied under long-term contracts.
ST: Gabriel Jesus (depth – Eddie Nketiah)
I do think it’ll be Balogun who is sold, with Nketiah proving to be invaluable backup whenever Gabriel Jesus is injured.

RW: Bukayo Saka (depth – Reiss Nelson)
With Bukayo Saka tied down to a new deal, Arsenal fans hope that Reiss Nelson will follow his fellow Hale End graduate and provide sufficient backup.
