Bruno Guimaraes commits to Newcastle, ending Arsenal and Manchester City transfer speculation.

Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has quashed rumors of a summer exit, reaffirming his dedication to the Magpies.

The 26-year-old Brazilian had been linked to Arsenal and Manchester City, with a reported £100m release clause in his contract, which expired in June.

Since joining Newcastle from Lyon in January 2022 for £40m, Guimaraes has become a key player in the Premier League.

Despite interest from top clubs, he has confirmed his desire to stay at St James’ Park.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are in talks with Crystal Palace to sign England center-back Marc Guehi, as they strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

Guimaraes’ commitment is a significant boost for Newcastle, as they look to build on their progress with a talented and dedicated squad.

He said:

“I am always here. I never said that I would like to leave.”

“I didn’t know anything about it [the rumours]. My focus was always Newcastle. I’m very happy.

“The gaffer has given me a big responsibility to be in the leadership group. I want to be a leader. I want to help the club in many ways.

“Since I’ve been here, I’ve developed my game a lot. I’m grateful to him and his staff. Now I think it’s time to deliver something special.”
