Arsenal recently received positive news about defender Jurrien Timber’s potential return from injury.
The former Ajax star sustained an ACL tear during the Gunners’ opening Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, forcing him out after just 50 minutes of play.
Initially, the assessment indicated that the 22-year-old would be sidelined for an unspecified “period of time.”
According to a report, the young player is targeting a comeback for Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League match against FC Porto in February.
Timber probably won’t rejoin team training soon, but there’s a chance he might be permitted to conduct individual training sessions outdoors as he intensifies his recovery.
In an exclusive conversation he had earlier this month, Timber himself revealed his ambition for an earlier comeback than initially anticipated.
He’s aiming to make a contribution to the Gunners’ 2023/24 season.

He said:
“I feel like it’s going pretty quick.”
“I’m making good progress and also the knee is reacting very well so I’m happy with the way things are going.
Let’s just see how things are going and how long it will be still.”
“The support of my team-mates and the coaches was immense from the moment I heard the news.”
“I remember [Oleksandr] Zinchenko and Mo [Elneny] were at the training ground, everyone was off [that day] and the doctor left me alone for a bit, and they came into my room.
”They were just talking to me and encouraging me, saying so many positive things.
A lot of guys were texting me, because everyone was off so no one was at the club,
but they heard what happened and were texting me. They asked if I was okay and the support was immense.”
With Timber’s potential return, Arsenal’s quest for success in both prestigious tournaments gains a considerable advantage, enhancing their chances of claiming top honors in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
