Crystal Palace has made a significant managerial change by appointing Oliver Glasner, the former boss of Eintracht Frankfurt, as their new manager.

This decision follows the departure of Roy Hodgson, who resigned earlier in the week to allow the club to expedite their managerial transition plans originally scheduled for the end of the season.

At 49 years old, Glasner brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and Palace will be hoping that his leadership will usher in a new era of success for the club.

With Hodgson’s departure and Glasner’s arrival, there is anticipation and excitement among fans as they look forward to seeing how the team will evolve under its new leadership.

And Glasner, 49, has been handed a deal until the end of 2025-26 by Eagles supremo Steve Parish.

Parish said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Oliver to the club.

He has an outstanding record and we believe he is the right manager to take the club forward at this pivotal stage.

“Wherever Oliver has gone so far in his managerial journey, success has been quick to follow.

“We believe his ambition, as well as his exciting and attacking approach, is the perfect fit for getting the most from our talented young squad in the remainder of this Premier League season and beyond.”

Glasner added:

“I am very happy to join Crystal Palace as manager.

I am looking forward to working with the talented squad, meeting the club’s supporters and experiencing the Selhurst Park atmosphere I have heard so much about.

“It has been a pleasure to meet with Steve and Dougie [Freedman].

I am looking forward to working with them to achieve our goals.”

Crystal Palace will face Everton on Monday night, and a victory could propel them from 16th position to 14th, providing them with a favorable advantage in the league standings.
