Today’s European Championship Qualifying Predictions

European qualifying prediction

On the final day of action in 2022/23 for the European qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2024.

Below are the predictions for today’s game

Scotland vs. Georgia

After a dramatic turnaround in Norway, Scotland are top of their group with nine points from nine.

They’re in a fantastic position to make it to Euro 2024, but first they face a potentially tricky clash with Georgia.

Georgia head into this clash in fine scoring form, having hit nine goals across their three games in 2023.

Each of those three have seen both teams score, so they should threaten at Hampden Park.

Scotland have won their last five home games, scoring at least twice in each.

Their fine run should see them make it four wins from four in qualifying, but their clash with Norway still saw them ship plenty of chances.

The visitors have scored in their last five competitive away games, so back them to score on Tuesday.

Prediction: Scotland 2-1 Georgia

Norway vs. Cyprus

The two winless nations in Euro 2024 qualifying Group A seek to break their respective ducks on Tuesday as Norway welcome Cyprus to the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo.

Stale Solbakken’s men failed to hang onto a one-goal lead in a dramatic 2-1 loss to Scotland at the weekend, while the visitors came up short against Georgia by the same scoreline.

History should repeat itself in more ways than one here, as Norway make it 12 wins from 12 against their lowly foes with another multiple-goal showing.

The hosts’ defensive deficiencies will hinder their chances of a victory to nil, but the Lions possess the necessary firepower to put Cyprus to the sword and force their way back into top-two contention.

Prediction: Norway 3-1 Cyprus

Moldova vs. Poland

Poland will be seeking to record back-to-back victories in Group E when they visit Moldova on Tuesday.

The hosts, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back after being defeated by Albania during the weekend.

Moldova have clearly tightened things up a little since appointing Clescenco, with their goalless draw against Czech Republic in March showing they are not the pushovers they have been in previous qualifying campaigns.

However, Poland should be full of confidence after defeating Germany on Friday, and we can envisage another tight victory for them to bolster their hopes of claiming a top two spot in Group E.

Prediction: Moldova 0-2 Poland

Faroe Islands vs. Albania

Faroe Islands are on a run of back-to-back defeats and are without a win in five games across competitions.

They have also lost four of their last six home games.

Albania, meanwhile, have won two of their last three games after going winless in ten. They are the stronger side, though, and should come out on top.

Prediction: Faroe Islands 0-2 Albania

Austria vs. Sweden

Austria will be aiming to remain top of Group F by gaining a positive result against Sweden on Tuesday.

The visitors have won one and lost one of their opening two qualifying games, leaving them four points behind their forthcoming opponents with a game in hand.

Both of these teams have been scoring and conceding plenty of goals lately, so we can envisage an entertaining encounter in Vienna.

Sweden will know that a defeat could potentially be fatal in terms of their hopes of qualifying for next summer’s European Championship, but we believe they have,

enough about them to avoid defeat, with a share of the spoils potentially suiting both managers.

Prediction: Austria 2-2 Sweden

Estonia vs. Belgium

Both teams play offensive 3-5-2 formations, which has helped create very open matches when these two teams have met in recent years.

However, despite missing Kevin De Bruyne through injury, Belgium clearly possess far more individual quality and they should comfortably win.

Prediction: Estonia 1-3 Belgium

Hungary vs. Lithuania

Having suffered a bump in the road last time out, Hungary will look to quickly find their feet and get their qualifiying campaign back on track.

Hungary should take the positives from their draw against Montenegro and edge out a Lithuania side who are without a win since March 2022.

Prediction: Hungary 2-0 Lithuania

Bulgaria vs. Serbia

Bulgaria remain rooted to the bottom of Group I in Euro 2024 qualifying as they welcome Serbia to Huvepharma Arena on Tuesday.

While a 1-1 draw with 10-man Lithuania on Saturday was disappointing for Mladen Krstajic, the Serbs retained top spot despite not playing over the weekend.

While Bulgaria might find the back of the net, Serbia’s superior quality across the pitch and attacking firepower should give the Eagles an edge on Tuesday.

Prediction: Bulgaria 1-2 Serbia

Iceland vs. Portugal

Yet to drop a point or even concede a goal in Euro 2024 qualifying Group J, Portugal board a plane to Reykjavík to tackle Iceland at Laugardalsvollur on Tuesday night.

The Selecao ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Bosnia & Herzegovina in their most recent affair, while their hosts went down 2-1 at home to Slovakia.

Still finding their feet under Hareide, Iceland ought to become the next victims of Portugal’s ruthless attack and dogged defence in front of their own supporters this week.

It remains to be seen how Martinez’s men would cope against stiffer opposition, but for the time being, the Selecao should continue their perfect start and move ever closer to a place in next year’s finals.

Prediction: Iceland 0-3 Portugal

Bosnia H’vina vs. Luxembourg

Bosnia-Herzegovina will attempt to bounce back from consecutive defeats when they play host to Luxembourg in Euro 2024 qualifying.

Luxembourg will head into Tuesday’s contest in a positive mood after picking up their first win of the qualifying campaign against Liechtenstein.

Bosnia-Herzegovina have won all seven of their previous meetings with Luxembourg,

and we think they will utilise home advantage to continue that winning record and claim their second victory of the qualifying campaign.

Prediction: Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-1 Luxembourg

Liechtenstein vs. Slovakia

Slovakia will be licking their lips as they take on a Liechtenstein side who have lost their last 19 games on the spin.

Given the gulf in quality between the two sides and their contrasting form, we predict a one-sided affair at the Rheinpark Stadion, with the Falcons picking up all three points.

Prediction: Liechtenstein 0-3 Slovakia
