Nottingham Forest Deducted Points For Breaching Financial Rules

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest Penalized by Premier League for Financial Infraction.

Forest have been penalized four points, dropping to 18th, benefiting Luton, who climb out of relegation.

The Premier League had previously announced Forest’s breach of PSR rules in January. Top-flight regulations limit losses to £105 million over three years, less for EFL teams.

The east Midlands club were promoted to the Premier League in 2022.

In that time they have spent £250m on signing 45 players, while making just £5m in transfers.

The £45m sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham last summer came too late to be counted in the reporting period being looked at, meaning it could not be used to offset some of their losses.

However, we could not learn who gets relegated from the Premier League until after the season ends.

Any appeals are likely to not be decided upon until after the final kick of the campaign.
