Theo Walcott List Four Fixtures That Could Decline Liverpool’s In the Title Race

Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott has identified four fixtures that could denied Liverpool Premier League glory.

Liverpool back to the top spot on the table after a 3-1 victory against bottom-ranked Sheffield United at Anfield on Thursday night.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are separated by just three points, but the upcoming weekend fixtures could alter the landscape significantly.

The Reds are scheduled to face arch-rivals Manchester United, whom they lost to 4-3 in the FA Cup a few weeks ago.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will confront Tottenham at home in May, a team that handed them one of only two league defeats this season.

Walcot:

‘One thing about Liverpool is they have four away games after facing Atlanta [in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final] – it could be their downfall.’

‘Four away games is not nice. There are other things that can effect you such as being away from home.

‘Liverpool will also not like going to Goodison Park.’

The four away games Walcott refers to back-to back clashes at Fulham, Everton and West Ham, before a trip to Champions League chasing Aston Villa in the penultimate round of the season.

As previously mentioned, one of those fixtures is the Merseyside derby, and Liverpool boasts an impressive record against their local rivals,

having lost just once to them in the last 13 years.

However, victories at Goodison Park are not assured, as Everton has managed to secure a draw in eight of their last 11 home games against Liverpool.
