Barcelona 2-0 victory over Cadiz restoring their eight-point lead at the top of La Liga.

The home side at the Nou Camp dominated possession but Cadiz looked relatively comfortable before Ferran Torres weaved his way around three defenders in the box

before pulling back to Robert Lewandowski and, after his shot was cleared by Iza Carcelin, Sergi Roberto slammed home the rebound.

Moments after the restart the first goalscorer squared to Lewandowski on the edge of the box and he drilled home his trademark finish leaving Jeremias Ledesma with no chance.

The result never looked in doubt but Cadiz substitute Chris Ramos twice came close to scoring late in proceedings.

First he toe-poked an effort which Marc-Andre ter Stegen pushed onto the post and then he met Alex’s cross in front of the Barcelona goalkeeper but it cleared the crossbar.

Three minutes from time another Cadiz substitute Choco Lozano also saw an effort hit the woodwork, but despite this late pressure there remained the impression that Barcelona could step up their game if the contest became close.

The win leaves Barcelona with an eight-point lead over Real Madrid, while Cadiz remain in 17th spot, two points in front of third-bottom Valencia.

Cadiz defeat Manchester United by 4-2 in an International friendly Match.

Carlos Garcia put the home side 1-0 up from a wide free kick after just eight minutes as Victor Lindelof completely mistimed his header, allowing the Cadiz midfielder to dive in low to head back across goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Things then went from bad to worse for United as they were again caught sleeping at the back – with Anthony Lozano left completely unmarked and centre-backs Lindelof and Teden Mengi nowhere near one another – as the Cadiz striker gave the Spanish side a 2-0 lead after just 14 minutes played.

That saw United left with a mountain to climb before Erik ten Hag’s side were handed a penalty as Zidane Iqbal combined wonderfully with Anthony Martial, before being brought down inside the box by Cadiz defender Luis Hernandez.

Up stepped Frenchman Martial, who slotted home his spot kick with a cheeky Panenka to make it 2-1 after 21 minutes at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.

Both sides had chances before half-time – with Iqbal and Martial looking particularly impressive for United – but Ten Hag’s side went into the break with plenty to do to turn the game around.

The Dutchman made a whopping 10 changes at half-time, changing his entire outfield and only keeping goalkeeper Dubravka.

Manchester United XI Vs Cadiz: Team News Possible Lineup

Manchester United set to face Cadiz today in a friendly Match as Erik ten Hag has a fairly inexperienced squad from which to choose.

Red Devil’s are heading on a mid-season tour to Spain, first taking on Cadiz on December 7 (7pm GMT kick off), before playing another LaLiga outfit in Real Betis on December 10.

Ten Hag could well field an incredibly youthful United starting XI for the clash, given the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and others are away at the World Cup.

Ten Hag has taken a 29-man squad to Andalusia, with talented youngsters like Zidane Iqbal and Alejandro Garnacho likely to take centre stage.

Pressure On Ronald Koeman As Barcelona Held To A Goalless Draw Against Cadiz.

Frenkie de Jong’s red card saw the visitors play the last 25 minutes with 10 men, with Koeman dismissed in the dying seconds for dissent.

Barcelona now have just two wins from five La Liga matches as speculation mounts over Koeman’s future.

Memphis Depay went closest for Barca, miskicking from just yards out.

But it could have been worse for a visiting side lacking any creativity, a

they needed goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen to pull off several impressive saves late on.

Koeman was left furious after two harsh yellow cards for De Jong in four minutes,

after the break led to Cadiz creating numerous late chances to win the game, having defended deep for the majority.

Alvaro Negredo, Salvi Sanchez and Anthony Lozano were all denied by Ter Stegen.

While at the other end Depay was guilty of squandering several good opportunities for a Barcelona side lacking in quality but full of fight.

The frustration got the better of Koeman in injury time as he was sent from the sidelines for arguing against a late booking for Sergio Busquets.

Koeman after the match talk to La Liga TV.

“One of the problems is in Spain they send you off for nothing.”

“They don’t say why, they just say attitude.

Everyone saw the moment there was a second ball on the pitch. Everyone has to see that.

“I am strong of course. I can’t win the battle with the press.

I will put my energy into the team and with the players.

But, I still see a fantastic attitude of the players and for me that is most important.

I can’t stop what the press are writing. We have to continue, that is my job.”

The pressure is building on Koeman after a start to the season.

Which has seen the Catalan giants draw three of their first five league games.

And lose 3-0 to Bayern Munich in their opening Champions League group-stage game last week.

The former Barcelona midfielder has not been helped by the club’s perilous financial position.

Which saw Lionel Messi exit the club in the summer and has left the manager with a young and inexperienced squad.

Seventeen-year-old midfielder Gavi was handed his full Barcelona debut while Yusuf Demir, 18, continued in attack.

The 58-year-old’s relationship with club president Joan Laporta has become strained in recent weeks.

Though, with speculation growing that replacements are being considered.

Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto:

“Here we have to try and win La Liga. This notion of ‘it’s OK to finish in the top four’ doesn’t work for me.

“We’ve got a squad who can fight for the La Liga title.

I don’t think other sides have better squads than us. We need to get into gear and start winning.”

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique:

“When I said ‘it is what it is’, it’s because we’ve got four absentees up top.

“I also said we’d end up competing. I’m not wearing the Barca shirt to come second or third.

I’m here to win titles and I’m absolutely convinced, despite the start we’ve made, we’ll compete. We need the fans to stay with us.”
