Virgil van Dijk's Future: Ronald Koeman Hints at Defender's Potential Destination

Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has dropped a hint on Virgil van Dijk’s potential destination if he decides to leave Liverpool this summer.

The Dutch defender is out of contract at the end of the season, sparking intense speculation about his future.

Koeman Weighs in on Van Dijk’s Future

Koeman, who manages the Netherlands national team, has played down the idea of Van Dijk moving to Saudi Arabia.

“Whether he signs with Liverpool or another big club, that’s all good for me,” Koeman said.

“We’ll see what happens, and what I understand from Virgil is that he is still looking for the level he is at now.”

Van Dijk’s Desire to Stay in Europe

Koeman’s comments suggest that Van Dijk is likely to stay in Europe, rather than making a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia.

This is significant, given Koeman’s recent criticism of Steven Bergwijn’s decision to move to Saudi Arabia at the age of 26.

PSG Links Played Down

Meanwhile, French football expert Julien Laurens has denied that Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with Van Dijk.

Despite being spotted speaking to PSG’s Director of Football Luis Campos and President Nasser Al-Khelaifi after the Champions League match between Liverpool and PSG, Laurens insists that the conversation was simply about the match.
