Kyle Walker Open Up On His Arsenal vs Man City Bust-Up

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has breakes silence on his burst-up against Arsenal when Arteta’s sides won 1-0 to make them drop to third on the Table.

After the game, the victory was somewhat overshadowed by a touchline brawl that broke out with City duo Kyle Walker and Erling Haaland in the centre of it alongside Arsenal coach Nicolas Jover.

With TV cameras first focused on the Arsenal celebrations, it wasn’t very clear what had happened or what had caused it with Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola later giving their pespective.

In his post-match press conference Arteta simply said:

“I haven’t seen it.” Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola was quick to admit he had seen it, but remained coy on the details, saying

“I know what happened but I don’t want to say anything.”

In the following days it was revealed that no FA investigation was set to take place with the scuffle ended rather quickly by Bukayo Saka as the peacemaker.

And now, speaking on international duty with England, Walker has revealed why the row broke out, blaming it on a previous incident with Jover.

He said, via Mirror:

“I don’t like losing. A couple of matches before, Nico, who worked for Man City, he did not want to shake hands when we beat them before.

When we lost, he wanted to shake my hand and I did not take it lightly. Simple as that.

‌”I haven’t been in touch but I have been concentrating on England but I will probably reach out to him, definitely. I will say, it was probably a bit too much.

“It shows the standards I have achieved and what I have learnt over the years, it is a big match there and losing in the way we did and so late on hurts. But if it did not hurt I am probably at the wrong club as we are title contenders.”
