Al-Nassr Transfer Isn’t What Cristiano Ronaldo ‘Really Wants’_Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan  has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has no intentions to leave Europe as Al-Nassr come closer to sign the five times Ballon d’Or winners.

Ronaldo’s second spell at Manchester United came to end following his controversial interview to Piers Morgan and a confrontation between the 37-year-old forward and his coach Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo appears to be on the brink of signing a lucrative contract with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia which could reportedly earn him €500 million over the course of a two-year deal.

Morgan, however, believes those claims are premature and Ronaldo is still confident that a strong showing during the latter stages of the World Cup could yet earn him a move to a team with aspirations of winning the Champions League this season.

Morgan told the daily telegraph:

‘He thinks that if he does well at this World Cup, he’ll get what he really wants, which is a club in the Champions League that extends his record and his legacy.’

‘It’s not about money at this stage of his career.

‘It comes down to a burning desire to play football at the highest level, to break records and win trophies.

And he has done that in more countries than any other player in history.’

Ronaldo had pushed to leave United in the summer transfer window but despite the efforts of his agent, Jorge Mendes, to find a new club,

several sides across Europe passed up the chance of a deal.

And it appears Ronaldo has faced a similar situation this winter as Chelsea and Bayern Munich both distanced themselves from a move this month.

When asked about a possible move for Ronaldo, Bayern Munich’s CEO Oliver Kahn said on Tuesday:

‘We have a clear idea, a clear philosophy of how our squad should be put together.

‘We all appreciate him, there’s no discussion. We all love Cristiano Ronaldo, but that’s something that doesn’t fit into our idea.’

Ronaldo completed a sensational return to Old Trafford in the summer of 2021 and scored 24 goals in 38 appearances last season.
