‘I Am Very Sorry To Him As A Player.’ Son Apologies To Antonio Conte

Spur winger Son Heung-Min has apologised to former coach Antonio Conte for personally not doing more this season.

Tottenham confirmed Conte’s departure ‘by mutual consent’ on Sunday evening, while Cristian Stellini has been appointed as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

The South Korean shared the Premier League golden boot last season as he flourished under Conte – but has not come close to hitting the same heights this term.

Son:

‘I am very sorry to him as a player, i should have shown better sides of me to him and helped the team out more, but I wasn’t able to.

‘Because of that, he ultimately had to shoulder responsibility by leaving, and I feel very responsible for it.

‘Because he has the ability and experience, he will obtain good results wherever he goes in the next chapter of his journey, and I will of course support him.

‘For the remaining few matches, I’d like to finish the season well with my teammates.’

Daniel Levy will assess possible successors to Conte between now and the end of the season.
